Pierson Farm is a family farm currently run by David and Sara Pierson. David is the third generation of the Pierson family to continue with farming. Todays farm is much different than when grandfather Ralph Pierson was farming at this location. Ralph purchased this small farm in 1945 at the age of 60. It was his retirement farm, he had previously farmed 200 plus acres in the Goshen section of Bradford from 1915 to 1945, where he and his wife seeked out a living and raised their family of four children. The present location of just 12.5 acres of tillable land was enough to sustain him in his retirement years. It supported 10 cows, 1 acre of sweet corn and half an acre of strawberries.

In 1964 his son Robert started farming full-time at this present location. The bovine population increased to about 30 milking cows and 25 calves and heifers. Sweet corn and strawberry production increased to 2 acres of berries and 4 acres of corn. At this same time more land was needed to grow crops to feed the animals and increase acreage of berries and corn. Land was rented all over Bradford to meet this need.

In 1979 David and Sara came back to Bradford to work on the farm, (Sara worked at the local bank until 1992 to help support the family) and in 1985 the dairy cows were sold and the farm was converted totally to vegetable and strawberry production. Two years before the first greenhouse was built to start the vegetable transplants and the spring of 1985 also gave rise to the present farm stand.

Today, the farm is raising the vegetable crops and strawberries on about 35 acres, many of those acres are rented from neighbors and friends. Crops include 15 acres of sweet corn and 4 acres of strawberries as well as all the standard vegetable crops and 4 greenhouses full of tomatoes.
